Lincoln County Firefighter’s MeetingFairview Fire DepartmentWednesday, Jan. 21, 2009, 7:30 p.m.  Meeting called to order by President Jayme Adrian at 7:30 p.m.Treasurer’s Report of $929.36 was approved.Minutes of previous meeting read and were approved.
OLD BUSINESS:  Discussed reflective signs on County trailers. Harold will pick up 100 ft. of 4”reflective tape from Pheasant Land Industries. 50’ for each trailer.  2009 grant discussion: Harold is going to a meeting next Monday. The State might want to keep all of the funding for the digital system. He will know more later. There will be less chance of applying for equipment, because it can only be used for the digital system.  Grant made a motion, seconded by Bernie to keep the grant money in Lincoln County. Motion passed.  Communications discussion: Todd stated that he ordered a new central repeater, and that there might be money available next time for the south tower. There was extensive discussion and concern about pages not coming through clearly. Todd stated that they might be able to try using the old repeaters to test other sites in the County that are currently having problems with radio reception.
NEW BUSINESS:     Bernie commented on the lack of directions given from dispatch. Todd stated that the new GIS mapping system doesn’t have the maps available and they physically have to look the address up.   Jeff asked why we do not have rural addressing signs on township roads in the southern part of the county. He was informed that it was a County issue.  Dave asked if it would be possible to have dispatchers talk slower and put a space between the house number and streets.  Dave has sent out statements for the dues for 2009.  There was discussion on raising the dues. It was decided to stay at the current $50 per year.  Dan said Harrisburg had their digital channels redone by State Radio. There was no charge, and Tea is doing the same.  Lyle Lowe is retiring from the shop in Springfield. He will only deal with supplies and not with constructions.  Grant said that Bill Curry is working on wanting to set up automatic mutual aid for the County.   Tea has a 75’ Quint if anyone is in need of one.

Motion made to adjourn and was seconded. Motions carried.
Meeting adjourned at 8:50 p.m.      Next Meeting to be in Harrisburg, March 18, 2009 at 7:30 p.m.   Minutes by Dave Daale, Assistant Chief, Fairview Fire Department
