Lincoln County Firefighter’s Meeting Alcester Fire Department Wednesday, July 16, 2008, 7:30 p.m. Meeting called to order by President Jamie Adrian at 7:30 p.m. Treasurer’s Report of $2,272.71 approved as read. Discussed bill from Alex Air Apparatus. Steve made a motion and seconded by Ryan to pay bill and divide bill equally to each department. Lacked support and motion died. Dan moved and seconded by Jeff to pay this bill. Motion passed unanimous. Minutes of previous meeting approved as read. OLD BUSINESS: Harold received price of $2,400 from Danko for a hose tester and fittings. Dan moved and was seconded by Steve for Harold to see if the county would offer funding to purchase this. All voted in favor. Worthing will be hosting water shuttle July 19 at 9:00 a.m. Todd has done final downloading of the GIS System. It is a very complex system, but is progressing well, but slow. Canton has a copy of the Sioux Falls smokehouse plans. Harold stated that he might be able to get partial funding for this next year. Harold had applied for a 20% match grant from PESA to get funding for the dispatch move, but it was denied. Harold stated that the Motorola 2500 and 1500 radios are P25 compatible. Hopes there will be funding next year to update radios. Todd stated that the digital system has some problems and recommended not to drop analog capability. Automatic mutual aid discussion. Steve moved, and was seconded, to rescind last meetings motion concerning this matter. Motion carried. Steve stated that Tea will host an informational meeting on July 23, 2008 for those interested in auto mutual aid. Todd stated that dispatchers are now trained to ask responding departments if they want assistance. Jamie offered wildland refresher course, no one was interested. Will offer again if anyone is interested. No conclusion concerning lights for county trailer. NEW BUSINESS: Discussed amount of annual dues. Tea will be hosting PHTLS class August 23 and 24. There will be no charge for this class. SE District Fire School will be held in Gayville. Lennox is hoping to offer First Responder classes this fall. More information later. Canton will not be hosting water fights this year. Dan moved to adjourn, LD seconded. Motions carried...
