Lincoln County Firefighter’s MeetingSioux Falls Fire DepartmentWednesday, March 19, 2008, 7:30 p.m. Meeting called to order by President Jamie AdrianTreasurer’s Report of $2,307.51 approved as read.Minutes of previous meeting approved as read.OLD BUSINESS:   May 13th is dispatch move, keep pagers open for that day.   Todd says GIS mapping will be done before dispatch is moved. They will be able to map from our location to the call address. The radios have had some problems, but Sioux Falls 2-Way has fixed repeaters and they should be OK.   Upcoming schools: Harrisburg is hosting, SE District School, Wildland 130, 190, 180 starts Friday the 25th thru Sunday 27th. Coyote classes are the next weekend at Newton Hills.  The ICS class, Feb 21 & 22, and 23 & 24. Chiefs and Asst., should take the ICS 300.   Russ asked about future regulations of ICS classes.   Storz seals have been taken care of, and have been sent in to be fixed.    Discussion about Canton’s generator having problems, and the bills for the generator are to be sent to the County. Interstate is still the service provider. Remind everyone to give them an overview.NEW BUSINESS:    Earmuffs were bought for Harrisburg’s portable pump and Tea’s air trailer.   Dan Fink presented Danko quote on the hose tester, $2,300 on up, electric only 120-220 V.   Brian Severson said to check on all fitting costs. Harold said money might be there and will know by the next meeting.   Recheck with Harold on your department’s resource list.   Radio zones---Todd talked that is was difficult because of costs and needs of each dept. Mostly 6 basic channels, and talk around are needed.   Worthing water shuttle probably the middle of May on a Saturday afternoon.   Tea shuttle; nothing definite yet, doing it for ISO rating, (reason for 15 mile radius) practice and then final drill.   There is nothing new on PESA Grant by Harold.   Get ID cards for all members. Contact Harold.   Jamie brought up the Smoke House—the old one is gone. A motion made to get the plans and prices, and options to take to the Commissioners, for possible grant. Motions passed. Corky will get the plans. The committee will be Nate, Jason and George.A discussion again about radio talk and don’t always ask for dispatch to acknowledge.NEW BUSINESS:    Kerry asked about the Dept. of Social Services availability when needed, Todd said to call law enforcement.   Reminder of Fire season approaching, Be ready.   Next meeting will be in Beresford, May 21st. Pipeline awareness with Dave Zimple.   Jamie talked about County wide mutual aid. Whoever has the call should call backup. Todd said wait until the new communication is up and running. Steve said all Dept. need to be present to decide. He will talk to Dept.   Brian said Canton is storing Class A foam for Danko. If needed get it from them.    Steve requested some air tanks from Hudson trailer, and needs a cart to carry tanks. Trailer needs emergency identification.   Harold—weather spotter classes April 28 at Washington Pavillion, 7:00 for Lincoln and Minnehaha County.    Steve, Tea is checking for tester for filling cascade systems, as to what air is being put out.   Worthing gets a kit to test air from Bauer Catalog. Harold will talk to County about funding.  LD moved to get tests, Bill seconded, all in favor.   Worthing will host meeting in September.    Next Meeting to be in Beresford, May 21, 2008  @ 7:00 p.m.Motion was made to adjourn and was seconded.
