Lincoln County Firefighter’s MeetingSioux Falls Fire Department

Wednesday, January16, 2008, 7:30 p.m. 

Meeting called to order by President Rob Boettcher

Treasurer’s Report of $2,182.95 approved as read.

Minutes of previous meeting approved as read.

OLD BUSINESS:  

Harold said the paging issues during the moving downtime have been figured out. The downtime should be occurring sometime late April to early May.   Stotz fittings have all been delivered.   Worthing is still considering a water shuttle sometime this spring.   Tea is planning on a water shuttle this spring for those within a 15 mile radius of Tea.   Harold Timmerman stated that nothing is happening at this time concerning the Water Rescue classes. He will know more after the next grant is issued.   Communications is aware of and has checked into the occasional pager clicking. No sure cause as of yet. SF Two-Way thinks it might be electrical interference.   There has been no additional info on the radio grant.   The Interagency Wildland Fire Exercise will take place May 3 and 4 in the Newton Hills area and at the Canton airport. Class schedules have been sent to the departments. More information is on the web site.    Dan Fink stated that Harrisburg will be hosting the SE District Fire School. Classes from Friday night April 26 through Sunday April 28. Classes will be primarily on wildland. More information on the web site.   Russ stated that EMT-B classes in Canton still needs more signups.   Tea is starting unit 2 of their Certified Firefighter classes.

NEW BUSINESS:   Bill Fink asked Harold and Todd about setting up one zone on all radios for the entire county, to include both digital and analog. The estimated cost would be $120 for the first radio and $20 each after that. They will try to have a proposed plan by the next meeting.   ICS 300 classes to be held in Sioux Falls Feb. 21&22 and Feb. 23&24. These are required of all chiefs and officers. ICS 400 classes to be held later, but are not required. Harold has already taken the ICS 400 which meets the government requirements for the county.   Harold has county resource list. Check with him to see if yours is up to date.   Tea requested 2 sets of noise protecting ear muffs for the air trailer.   Dan Fink started discussion on purchasing a hose tester for county use.   Todd said that GIS mapping is up.   Motion was made by Jamie and seconded by Brian to continue maintaining web site. Motion passed.  George asked about, and we were told by Harold that the county is still taking care of the service work on the backup generators.   The billing for the annual dues has been sent out.

 ELECTION of OFFICERS:Jamie Adrian was nominated for president, he accepted with all votes in favor.Dan Fink was nominated for Vice-President, he accepted with all votes in favor.Dave Daale was nominated for Sec-Treas., he accepted with all votes in favor.Steve Oberly was nominated for Director, he accepted with all votes in favor. 

Next Meeting to be in Tea, March 20,  2008  @ 7:30 p.m.

Motion was made to adjourn and was seconded. Motion carried at 8:30 p.m.
